MEGA 100 Portable Briefcase Solar Panel - 100 Watt 12 Volt Portable Solar Panel

A 100-watt folding panel with no charge controller attached, meant for anyone whose power station or solar generator already has an MPPT input built in. Plugging a controlled panel into a power station just adds a second regulation stage you do not need. This is the same hardware as the MEGA 100 briefcase charging kit, minus the 10A controller and the price that comes with it.

Why this panel

• Monocrystalline cells rated up to 23.2% efficiency, folding to 25.2 x 18.1 x 2.4 in and weighing 15.7 lb.
• 18.6V at maximum power, 5.38A, 22.8V open circuit. That open-circuit figure is the number to check against your power station's input voltage window.
• Tempered glass on an aluminum frame with corner guards, because a portable panel takes more knocks than a roof-mounted one.
• IP67 junction box and connectors, so light rain and morning dew are not a problem.
• Built-in kickstands hold the panel at an angle instead of flat, which is where most of the real-world gain over a flat mat panel comes from.
• Choose the charging kit version instead if you are wiring directly to a bare 12V battery with no controller of your own.

Setup

• Unfold, deploy the kickstands, and aim at the sun; reposition every couple of hours to hold output up.
• Five-foot 12 AWG leads terminate in MC4 connectors. Most power stations need an MC4 to XT60, Anderson or 8mm adapter, which is not included.
• Two panels can be paralleled for 200W if your input accepts the current, or wired in series if it accepts the voltage.
• Carry it folded by the handle; the glass is protected by the frame but should not be stood on.
