ALPHA 5 PRO - 51.2V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery

The certified rack battery in the ALPHA line: 5,120Wh at 51.2V nominal, UL1973 and UL9540A listed, with a 10-year warranty. UL9540A is the fire-propagation test that many jurisdictions now ask for on indoor energy storage, and it is the reason to choose this over the standard ALPHA 5.

Why this battery

• 5,120Wh per battery - about 7% more than the standard ALPHA 5's 4,800Wh, in a slightly smaller 3U footprint.
• UL1973, UL9540A, FCC, UN38.3 and MSDS. If your building department or insurer asks for a listed indoor storage battery, this is the one in the range that satisfies it.
• 10-year warranty, against no published term on the standard ALPHA 5.
• 7,000+ cycles from grade-A welded prismatic cells at 80% depth of discharge.
• Integrated 150W heater: charging is blocked below 32°F, heating starts below 41°F and stops above 50°F. The standard ALPHA 5 has no heater at all, so in an unheated garage the PRO is the only one of the two that will charge through winter.
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth monitoring plus a front-panel LCD and LED status display, so you can read state of charge without a phone.
• RS485, RS232 and CAN ports with published protocol codes for Pylon, Growatt, Victron, Sol-Ark, Schneider, LuxPower, GoodWe, Solis, Senergy, SMA and Megarevo. Set the protocol code in the inverter settings to match.
• Parallels up to 30 units - far beyond the six-battery rack - so the same battery covers a house and a light commercial installation.
• Worth noting: it is IP21, meaning drip-protected but still indoor-only, and it is 100.9 lb per battery. Plan the lift and the rack anchoring.

Installation

• 3U rack-mount, 17.7 x 17.8 x 5.2 in, fits a standard server rack.
• Maximum charge voltage 57.6V, maximum charge current 100A, maximum discharge current 100A.
• A 20A LiFePO4 charger at 57.6V fills a battery in about six hours; so does a 20A DC-DC charger. From solar, expect a full charge in one clear day from about 1,500W of array.
• Charge between 32°F and 140°F; discharge between -4°F and 149°F. The dual-layer breaker and FET protection covers -4°F to 239°F.
• The optional server rack holds six ALPHA 5 series batteries - 30.72kWh - with 600A copper busbars and protective covers.
• Select the correct RS485 or CAN protocol code in your inverter's settings before commissioning, or the battery and inverter will not talk.
