ALPHA 4 LITE - 24V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery

The value 24V battery in the ALPHA range: same 2,560Wh and same case size as the standard ALPHA 4, without the internal heater or the Bluetooth radio. Rich Solar publishes a complete specification table for this one, so you can size a system around it with confidence.

Why this battery

• 2,560Wh from 100Ah at 25.6V nominal, with 100A continuous discharge. At 24V that is roughly 2,400W of continuous load.
• Rated for more than 4,000 cycles and carries a 5-year warranty - the same warranty term as the standard ALPHA 4.
• Charge voltage is 28.8V, so it works with any standard 24V LiFePO4 charge profile.
• Individually fused lithium cells, so a single cell failure does not take the pack down with it.
• Self-discharge under 5% per month, which makes it reasonable for seasonal storage.
• Read this before you buy: no internal heater and no Bluetooth. Below freezing it will not accept a charge, and state of charge has to come from a shunt or your inverter display. Against the standard ALPHA 4 the LITE is also 4.4 lb heavier - 52.9 lb against 48.5 lb - despite having less hardware inside, which is worth knowing if you are lifting it into a roof locker.

Installation

• Case is 20.9 x 8.1 x 8.5 in - long and narrow rather than a standard group size. Measure the compartment first.
• Charge at 28.8V on a CC/CV lithium profile.
• Charge between 32°F and 131°F, discharge between -4°F and 140°F. For storage over three months keep it between 14°F and 113°F at 90% relative humidity or less.
• BMS cutoffs: over-charge at 3.75V ± 0.05V per cell recovering at 3.55V, over-discharge at 2.20V ± 0.08V recovering at 2.70V, with short-circuit protection.
• Keep the battery above freezing while charging - there is no heater to do it for you.
