ALPHA 4 - 24V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery

A 25.6V nominal battery holding 2,560Wh - the same energy as a 12V 200Ah unit, but delivered at twice the voltage so your cable runs carry half the current. If your inverter and charge controller are 24V, this is the drop-in unit.

Why this battery

• 2,560Wh from 100Ah at 25.6V nominal. Halving the current for the same power means smaller cable, smaller fuses and less voltage drop across a long run - the practical reason to go 24V.
• Rated for 5,000 cycles, with a published 5-year warranty.
• 100A BMS: 100A maximum charge, 100A continuous discharge, 110A for ten seconds. Rich Solar recommends charging at 50A (0.5C) rather than the maximum.
• Self-heating starts below 41°F and stops above 50°F. Note that heating draws about 100W from an external source while it runs - budget for that in a solar-only system in winter.
• Bluetooth monitoring through the RICH SOLAR app.
• IP65 rated, in a flame-retardant ABS housing.
• 48.5 lb and 20.9 x 8.1 x 8.5 in - long and narrow rather than a standard group size, so measure your compartment before ordering.

Installation

• Charge method is CC/CV. Note on charge voltage: Rich Solar's own page lists 14.4V ± 0.2V, which is the figure for their 12V batteries and cannot be right for a 25.6V nominal pack - a 24V LiFePO4 battery charges at roughly twice that. Take the charge voltage from the specification PDF or the manual and confirm it with Rich Solar before you set your controller. Charging a 24V battery at a 12V setpoint will simply never fill it.
• Recommended charge current is 50A; the BMS will accept up to 100A.
• Charge between 32°F and 131°F, discharge between -4°F and 140°F, store between 14°F and 95°F.
• The heater needs external power to run - it will not heat the battery from its own cells.
