MEGA 580 BIFACIAL - 580 Watt Bifacial Solar Panel

The MEGA 580 is the larger sibling of the MEGA 550, and the two are close enough that it is worth being blunt about the difference. Same 89.7 x 44.7 in footprint, same 144-cell bifacial construction, same warranty. The 580 adds 30 watts per panel, runs at a higher 1500 VDC system voltage, and is about 4.5 lb lighter each. The 550 has slightly higher module efficiency on paper because of its 1.4 in frame. If your racking and inverter accept 1500V strings, the 580 gives you more kilowatts per pallet for a small premium.

Why this panel

• 580W from 144 half-cut N-Type TOPCon cells with 16 busbars, 22.5% module efficiency.
• Bifacial dual-glass construction, 2.0 mm front and 2.0 mm rear, instead of a polymer backsheet.
• Rear-side gain is quoted at up to 25%, but that number assumes a bright reflective surface and generous mounting height. Over dark ground or a flush roof mount, plan on far less. Treat any rear-side production as upside, not as design capacity.
• 42.7V at maximum power, 13.6A, 51.4V open circuit, 1500 VDC maximum system voltage, 30A series fuse.
• Output tolerance 0 to +5W, PID-resistant cells, 100% electroluminescence inspection.
• 5400 Pa snow and 2400 Pa wind rating; operating range -40 to 185 F.
• Certified to UL 61730, IEC 61215 and CSA C22.2.

Mounting and wiring

• Eight pre-drilled frame holes for rail clamps, tilt legs, pole or ground mounts.
• Four-foot 12 AWG leads with MC4 connectors, IP68 junction box, IP67 connectors.
• The 1500 VDC rating allows longer strings than the 1000V MEGA 550, which reduces combiner and wiring runs on larger arrays. Confirm your inverter supports it.
• Each panel weighs 68.8 lb and needs two people plus racking rated for the load.

• Ships by freight on a pallet of 8, 10 or 12 panels. Liftgate or forklift required.
• Partial pallets are not offered at this pricing.

• 25 years on rated power output.
• 10 years on materials and workmanship.
