BT-1 Module - Bluetooth Module for 20/30/40/60A MPPT Solar Charge Controllers

A small Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the communication port of a Rich Solar MPPT controller and puts charge state, battery voltage and array output on your phone. Useful when the controller ends up somewhere you cannot easily read a screen — under a bed platform, behind a panel, in a locker.

Check compatibility first

• Rich Solar states this module works with the 20A, 30A, 40A and 60A MPPT controllers only. It is not a universal accessory.
• It does not add Bluetooth to the BRAVO PRO flush-mount controllers, the BRAVO AIR 30 or the BRAVO 50 DC — those already have Bluetooth built in and need nothing extra.
• If you are unsure which controller you have, check for a communication port on the case before ordering.

Why this module

• Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE, so it stays connected without draining the battery: 0.04 W on standby and 0.05 W in use.
• Powered entirely from the controller through the RJ12 port. No separate supply, no batteries.
• Rated IP67, which is a far higher sealing standard than the controllers themselves. The module can sit somewhere damp even if the controller cannot.
• Supplied with a 5 metre lead, so the module can be mounted away from the controller to get a clear signal path.
• Range is quoted at 15 m, roughly 50 ft. That is line of sight; a steel wall or a battery bank between you and the module will cut it down.

Installation

• Plug the RJ12 lead into the controller's communication port and mount the module where the signal is not blocked by metal.
• Mounting holes are 3.2 mm on a 57.5 mm centre.
• The module is 2.6 x 2.01 x 0.61 inches and weighs 4.2 oz.
• Serial baud rate is fixed at 9600 bps and is not adjustable.

• Rich Solar's warranty schedule covers accessories under its general term of one year from the original purchase date.
• This term is not prorated.
