NOVA PURE MAX 3K - 3000 Watt (3kW) 24 Volt Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter

Three thousand watts of clean AC from a 24-volt battery bank. If you are choosing between this and the 12V NOVA PURE 3K, which sells for the same money, the difference is current: this unit draws roughly 142A at full output where the 12V version draws about 270A. That is the difference between 2/0 cable and 4/0, and between a BMS most batteries can supply and one many cannot.

Why this inverter

• 3,000W continuous with a 6,000W surge, enough headroom for a residential refrigerator, a 1,500W induction hob or a decent compressor - one at a time.
• Pure sine wave output with the same three 120V AC sockets and 5V/2.1A USB port as the rest of the NOVA PURE MAX range.
• Certified to UL 458 and CSA C22.2, per the manufacturer's specification table.
• Automatic shutdown on overload, low battery voltage and over-temperature, plus output short-circuit protection and an internal DC backup fuse.
• Physically it is the 2K in a longer case: 18.7 x 9.6 x 4.0 inches against the 2K's 16.1 inches, and 12.1 lb against 10.1 lb. Everything else on the spec sheet is identical except the power figures.

Wiring and installation

• Plan for about 142A of continuous DC draw at full output, calculated from the >88% efficiency Rich Solar publishes. Size cable and the DC fuse from that number.
• Check that your 24V bank's BMS is rated for 142A continuous. Many are; some 100Ah packs are not, and that is the specification to look up before ordering.
• Rated operating range is 14°F to 122°F, so this is not a unit for an unheated exterior locker in a cold climate.
• Inverter only - no solar charge controller, no battery charger, no transfer switch. If you want shore-power charging and automatic changeover in one box, the NOVA 3K12 or a hybrid inverter is the right product.

Warranty and marketing claims

• Covered by Rich Solar's standard limited warranty. Ask us to confirm the current term for this model before ordering.
• Rich Solar's own title calls this the "#1 Ranked 24V Pure Sine Wave Inverter" without naming a ranking body or publication. We are repeating that as advertising, not as a verified result.
• One correction worth knowing: the manufacturer's page opens by describing a 12V DC input. That is a copy-and-paste error carried over from the 12V model. This is a 24V unit and will not run from a 12V bank.
