NOVA PURE 2K - 2000 Watt (2kW) 12 Volt Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter

The NOVA PURE 2K is the middle size in Rich Solar's 12 volt pure sine range, and the point where an inverter stops being a phone-charging convenience and starts running real appliances - a microwave, a coffee maker, a compact air conditioner. It is a standalone inverter only: no solar controller, no battery charger, no transfer switch. If you want shore power to pass through automatically, the NOVA 2K12 is the same output with a transfer switch built in.

Why this inverter

• 2000 W continuous with a 4000 W peak surge - double the rated output, which is what lets it start a compressor or a shop vac rather than tripping.
• Pure sine output with low harmonic distortion, so laptops, medical equipment and brushless motors behave the same way they do on shore power.
• Three 120 V sockets and a 5 V 2.1 A USB port on the front panel.
• Separate LED indicators for under-voltage, over-voltage, over-temperature, overload and short circuit, so a fault tells you what happened.
• Rich Solar states that a remote control is included with the NOVA PURE series, which lets you switch the unit on and off without reaching the inverter itself - useful when it lives under a bed or in a basement bay.
• Certified to UL 458 and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1, the mobile and marine standard.
• Efficiency is quoted as greater than 88%. At full output that means roughly 180 amps of DC current at 12 volts. That is a serious cable and fuse - budget for 2/0 or larger on a short run, and be honest with yourself about whether the battery bank can deliver it.

Installation

• 12 VDC only. The NOVA PURE MAX 2K is the identical output on a 24 V bank, and at the same price - if your system is 24 V, that halves the current and the cable cost.
• 16.1 x 9.6 x 4.0 in and 10.1 lb. Bolt it to a bulkhead or a solid shelf; do not leave it loose in a moving vehicle.
• Rated 14°F to 122°F. Fans are high-speed and need unobstructed air at both ends - a tight cabinet will make it cycle the fans hard and shorten its life.
• Wire it directly to the battery through a correctly rated fuse. A 12 V accessory socket cannot supply anything close to this inverter's full load.
• Rich Solar publishes one shared specification sheet for the NOVA PURE 1K, 2K and 3K, so check you are reading the 2K column.
