MEGA 100 ONYX - 100 Watt Black Solar Panel

An all-black 100 watt panel for people who care what the roof looks like. Electrically the ONYX is the same 12 volt, 100 watt module as the standard MEGA 100 - same output, same footprint - but it is finished with a black frame and black backsheet so it reads as part of the roof rather than a bolt-on. The price difference buys the finish, nothing more.

Why this panel

• 100 watts at 12 volts from 33 nine-busbar monocrystalline cells, rated up to 22.6% conversion efficiency.
• Output tolerance runs 0 to +5 watts, so no panel leaves the line under its rating.
• 3.2 mm anti-reflective tempered glass lets more light reach the cells and takes hail and grit without chipping.
• Holds usable current in weak light, which matters more than peak numbers on overcast mornings and late afternoons.
• Qualified against salt spray, ammonia, blown sand, sustained heat and humidity - the conditions that actually kill panels on coasts and in the desert.
• Every cell is electroluminescence-inspected for micro-cracks and the laminate is PID-resistant.
• Rated for 2400 Pa wind and 5400 Pa snow loading, certified to UL 61730, IEC 61215 and CSA C22.2.

Mounting and wiring

• Anodized aluminum frame: light enough to lift onto a roof single-handed, stiff enough not to flex, and it will not corrode.
• 14 pre-drilled holes take Z-brackets, tilt legs, pole mounts or a ground rack, so you never have to drill the frame yourself.
• Factory-fitted MC4 leads, 12 AWG and three feet on each pole, plug straight into a combiner or an extension run.
• Works with off-grid and grid-tie inverters. At 22.8 V open circuit you can put several in series before reaching the input ceiling on most controllers.
