BRAVO AIR 30 - 30 Amp Flush Mount PWM Solar Charge Controller

A flush-mount 30 amp PWM controller for 12 volt systems, meant to sit in a wall panel rather than on a bulkhead. Bluetooth is built in rather than sold as an add-on module, so you can read charge state from a phone without buying anything else.

Why this controller

• Designed to mount flush in a cabinet face or wall panel, which is the usual reason to choose it over a surface-mount unit.
• Bluetooth monitoring is integrated. The MPPT controllers in this range need the separately sold BT-1 module to do the same thing.
• Automatically wakes a LiFePO4 battery whose BMS has shut down, and supports flooded, AGM, gel, calcium and LiFePO4 profiles.
• PWM regulation through MOSFET switching, with spark-free connection.
• Certified to UL1741, CE, EMC, FCC and RoHS.
• Protection against over-voltage, short circuit, reverse polarity and over-temperature, the last cutting in at 185°F.

Installation and limits

• This is a 12 volt controller only. There is no 24 volt mode.
• The array voltage limit is the constraint that matters: normal input is 5 to 22 VDC and the absolute open-circuit maximum is 25 VDC. That means a single nominal 12 volt panel. You cannot put two panels in series on this controller, only in parallel.
• Rich Solar does not publish a maximum array wattage. Thirty amps at 12 volts works out around 360 watts, but that is arithmetic rather than a manufacturer rating, so confirm before sizing an array to the limit.
• Rated IP22 in a plastic PC housing. That is less protection than the IP30 and IP32 units elsewhere in the range, and it is not a weatherproof controller. Mount it inside.
• Vertical wall mounting only. Terminals take up to #8 AWG stranded, torqued to 6.2 to 7.1 in-lb.
• Operating range is -13°F to 122°F, with humidity to 85 percent RH.
• Temperature-compensated charging needs the optional external BTS sensor, which is not supplied.
• Rich Solar does not publish a weight for this unit, so shipping is quoted manually.

• Rich Solar covers PWM controllers for one year.
• Unlike the MPPT controllers, this term is not prorated — it is straight coverage for twelve months.
