The smaller of Rich Solar's two 12V lithium chargers, and the only one of the pair with an ingress rating. It delivers 10 amps at 14.4V from any 100-240VAC supply, and like its bigger sibling it can restart a LiFePO4 battery whose BMS has latched off after a deep discharge.

Why this charger

  • Rated IP65, so it tolerates dust and low-pressure water jets. That is the main reason to choose this over the 20A model, which carries no published ingress rating.
  • 10A output at 14.4V plus or minus 0.2V — a proper LiFePO4 absorption voltage, not a lead-acid profile applied to lithium.
  • Three-stage charging: pre-charge, constant current, constant voltage.
  • Wakes BMS-protected batteries that have shut down, which is usually what has happened when a lithium pack reads zero volts.
  • M8 terminals plus a 30A Anderson connector.
  • LED indication for standby, charging, full and fault.
  • Aluminium shell with an active fan, and protection against over-temperature, reverse polarity, short circuit and over-voltage.
  • Draws only 2A from the wall, so it will run happily off a small inverter generator or a shared campground circuit.

10A or 20A

  • This 10A unit is IP65 and takes M8 / 30A Anderson connections. The 20A unit is faster but has no published ingress rating and uses M10 / 50A Anderson.
  • On a 100Ah battery, expect roughly ten hours from empty here versus about five with the 20A.
  • Choose this one for exposed or marine locations, for maintenance duty, and for banks up to about 100Ah. Choose the 20A for daily deep cycling or larger banks.
  • Worth noting: this 10A model is actually slightly heavier than the 20A (3.86 lb against 3.75 lb), most likely because of the sealed IP65 housing.

Installation and use

  • Operating range is -4 F to 104 F. Do not charge LiFePO4 below freezing unless the battery has its own heater; this charger does not read pack temperature.
  • IP65 means protected against dust and water jets. It is not submersible.
  • Compact at 8.19 x 3.58 x 2.07 inches and 3.86 lb.

Warranty

  • Covered by Rich Solar's standard limited warranty. No specific term is published on the product page; contact us to confirm the current coverage period.
