corner-bracket-mounts
Corner Bracket Mounts - Drill-Free Solar Panel Brackets, Set of Six

These bond a rigid solar panel to a roof without putting a single hole in it. That is the entire reason they exist, and for a lot of people it is the deciding factor — a leased vehicle, a fibreglass boat deck, a roof still under warranty, or simply an unwillingness to drill eight holes in something watertight. Six brackets per set, which supports the four corners plus the middle of the two long edges.

Why these brackets

No drilling and no roof penetrations at all. Nothing to seal, nothing to leak, and nothing to explain to a landlord or a warranty department.

UV-resistant ABS that will not corrode. On a salt-air boat deck that is a genuine advantage over a metal bracket with steel fasteners.

Six brackets rather than four, so a longer panel gets support at the middle of each long edge instead of just at the corners.

Rich Solar states the plastic is 100 percent recyclable.

Available in black or white to suit the roof.

Corner brackets or Z-brackets?

Our Z-Brackets are anodised aluminium and bolt through the roof. They cost about a third of what these do and, once sealed properly, they are the stronger mechanical fixing.

These are ABS and bonded on. You pay roughly three times as much for the privilege of not making a hole.

The honest way to choose: if you are willing and able to drill and seal properly, the Z-brackets are the cheaper and structurally better answer. If you cannot or will not drill, these exist for exactly that reason and are worth the premium.

What these will not do, plainly

The adhesive is doing all the work, and it is not supplied. Rich Solar says so directly — no tape or glue is included. There is no mechanical backup: if the bond fails, nothing else is holding the panel. Buy a quality polyurethane adhesive sealant and follow its surface preparation instructions exactly.

Surface matters more than with a bolted bracket. Rich Solar names aluminium, wood and GRP as the suitable substrates. That list does not include asphalt shingle, textured rubber roofing or anything chalky or flexing, and adhesive on those is a poor bet. If that is your roof, drill and use Z-brackets.

No wind load rating is published. These are plastic parts held on by glue, carrying a panel that acts as a wing at highway speed. We would use them on a vehicle, but we would prepare the surface properly, allow full adhesive cure before driving, and inspect the bond line each season.

Framed rigid panels only. Rich Solar claims compatibility with all its panels; that is not right. A corner bracket needs a panel frame to grip, and flexible and CIGS panels have none.

No dimensions and no weight are published anywhere on the manufacturer's page, so we cannot tell you the bracket footprint or how much roof area each one bonds to. Ask us before ordering if clearance around the panel is tight.

Installation

Dry-fit the panel and mark every bracket position before opening any adhesive. Once it is down it is not coming up cleanly.

Clean, degrease and abrade both surfaces, and prime if the adhesive manufacturer calls for it. On a bonded mount this step is the installation.

Let the adhesive reach full cure, not just skin over, before the vehicle moves or before any wind gets under the panel. Full cure often takes days, not hours.

Leave the cable with enough slack that nothing pulls on a bracket.

Check the bond line at the start of each season. A bond that is starting to lift shows at the edges long before it lets go.

Warranty and safety

Covered by Rich Solar's published limited warranty; terms are on the manufacturer's warranty page.

Carries a California Proposition 65 warning for cancer risk and reproductive harm.
